Life Story for William R. Aldridge

William R.  Aldridge
Mr. William R. Aldridge, age 88, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Hanover Health and Rehab. Born January 23, 1928 in Englewood, Colorado, he was the son of Arley and Dorothy Cecilia (Stanley) Aldridge.

Mr. Aldridge served in the US Army during World War II. He formerly owned and operated a construction firm and a resort in California, and worked as a handyman in Nevada after retirement. He moved to Hanover from Wellington, Nevada in March 2012 to be closer to his daughter and her family. He enjoyed working on cars, cutting wood and being in the mountains of California and Nevada. His children were his life.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Steve Taylor of Hanover; one son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Jessie Aldridge of Wellington, Nevada; one sister, Dorothy Fugitt of Banning, California; five grandchildren: Ryan Taylor and his wife, HaLeigh of Columbus, Ohio; and Katie, Rachel, Nathan and Elijah Taylor, all of Hanover; and two great grandchildren: Sara Katherine and Julia Elizabeth Taylor, both of Columbus, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arley Aldridge; his mother, Dorothy (Brown) Aldridge Christiansen; his wives, the former Barbara Diane Brown, who died on July 20, 2000, and to whom he was married on December 7, 1950 in Tijuana, Mexico, and Iris Brown Aldridge, who he married on February 14, 2002 in Gardnerville, Nevada; one son, Billy Aldridge in 1979; two brothers: John and James Aldridge; and one sister, Joyce Castro.

Private family memorial services will be conducted at a future date in Nevada.

Memorial contributions in memory of William R. Aldridge may be made to Second Stories, in care of Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, which is in charge of the arrangements.
