John M. Price, 69, of Midland, Michigan and Milton, Kentucky, died Friday morning, June 10, 2016 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born October 24, 1946 in Madison, Indiana, son of the late Victor M. and Lucy (Jeffries) Price. John honorably served with the United States Air Force Special Forces during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, and was a lifetime member of the IU Alumni Association. While at IU, he played on the Hoosier’s Baseball Team. He earned his Masters of Science degree from Ball State University, and did post graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley. John worked as an Environmental Chemist for the Dow Corning Corporation, retiring after twenty-six years of service. He was a member of the Midland First United Methodist Church; enjoyed coaching little league baseball and basketball, watching IU basketball, and loved his family.
He will be missed by his wife, Nancy (Oakley) Price; son, Rob L. Price of Midland; sisters, Jeanie Gossom of Sellersburg, Indiana, and Judy (Mike) Fewell of Enon, Ohio; two aunts Alice Price of Madison, Jean Cobb of Shelbyville Kentucky; his mother-in-law Wilma Oakley of Milton, one uncle Vince Stengel of Jeffersonville, Indiana, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at the Milton United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at the church on Friday June 17 from 5-8pm and from 10:00 am until time of service.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Milton United Methodist Church Building Fund, the Jefferson County Animal Shelter, or charity of the donor’s choice.
