Edward Joseph.Strickland, III, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at his residence. Born May 10, 1941 in Kankakee, Illinois, he was the son of Edward and Margaret Strickland.
Mr. Strickland was a graduate of Bradley High School in Illinois and a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the Clifty Falls State Park Inn and was a founding member of the Ohio Valley Celtic Society. He frequented the Thomas Family Winery and loved to garden.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Amanda (Strickland) Sterkenburg of Kentwood, Michigan; his son, George Strickland of Centennial, Colorado; his mother of Kankakee; his sister, Betty Allison of Lake Zurich, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Jan Strickland of Lake Zurich; four grandchildren: Robbie Strickland, Tony Strickland, Marshall Carr, and N. Easton Sterkenburg; and one great grandchild, Brayden Strickland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jane (Soards) Strickland, who passed away on January 16, 2000; his father; and one brother, William Strickland.
Services will be announced.
