Obituary for Betty J. Shelley

Betty J.  Shelley
Betty Jane Shelley, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Hanover Health and Rehab Center. Born December 31, 1925 in Madison, she was the daughter of Frank L. and Edith Lorene Ross Clarkson.

Mrs. Shelley was a homemaker, and a member of the Jefferson County Homemakers Club. She enjoyed making crafts, sewing and painting. She had lived most of her life in Jefferson County, but spent some time in Memphis, Tennessee, Whiteland and Franklin, Indiana.

She will be sadly missed by two daughters and sons-in-law: Beverly and John Tucker of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Linda and Joe Garcia of Gilroy, California; three sons: Timothy Shelley and his wife Rebecca, Madison, Tom Shelley of Bartlett, and Donald Shelley and his wife, Debbie of Cumberland, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Shelley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Ray Shelley on November 21, 2007; three brothers: Floyd, Jack and Tony Clarkson; and five sisters: Alma Conner, Frances Thompson, Marcela Ralston, Wilma Austin and Eleanor Owens.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, with interment to follow in Lick Branch Cemetery, near Deputy.

Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Gideons International. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
