Benjamin A. "Buck" Goins, age 76, of Deputy, Indiana passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at River Terrace Health Campus. Born December 31, 1939 in Madison, he was the son of Harvey and Hazel Elizabeth (Handlon) Goins.
Mr. Goins retired in 2000 from Grote Industries, where he was a painter for 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Jefferson Post #9, Madison Moose Lodge, and the Conservation Club. He enjoyed golf in his younger years, fishing and going camping.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda S. Goins; his children: James Allen Goins of Madison, Gregory Allen Goins, Sr. of Kentucky, Benna Jean Umbstead of North Vernon, Mark Allen Goins, Sr. of Madison, Marchita "Marty" McClure of Madison, and Betty; his siblings: Harvey Goins, Jr. of Indianapolis, Larry Goins of Madison, and Rebecca "Becky" Jester of Madison; nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Gregory, Cody, Patrick, Mark, Jr., Elijah, Kelly, and Lane; several great grandchildren including Mason, Hailey, Annabelle, Allie, and Alaina; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and uncle, Theodore Wilson.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Marion Webster Goins in 1994 and his brother, Thomas Handlon.
The Reverend Christopher Craig will conduct funeral services at 7:00 PM Tuesday September 13, 2016 at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison with burial to be private at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Friends and family may gather from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
