Marjorie F. Jenkins, age 87, of Scottsburg, Indiana, formerly of Dupont, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at her residence. She was born on April 8, 1929 in Jefferson County, Indiana, the daughter of Dennis and Virgie (Sherman) Konkle.
Mrs. Jenkins was a 1947 graduate of the former Central High School in Jefferson County, and a member of Graham Baptist Church. She worked for several companies during her career, including the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Indiana, and U.S. Shoe Corp., Conn Organ, and Madison Electronics in Madison. She retired from Madison Electronics in 1997. She enjoyed raising flowers and making crafts.
She will be sadly missed by one daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Robert Calvert of Scottsburg; three grandchildren, Marilyn Haney, Pete Bowyer and Eric Bowyer; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. "Bill" Jenkins on March 1, 2014; eight brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, Bub Haney on September 8, 2012.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, October 3, 2016 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, with interment to follow in New Prospect Cemetery.
