Life Story for Harold L. Coy

Harold L.  Coy
Mr. Harold L. Coy, age 90, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana. Born December 4, 1925 in Florence, Indiana, he was the son of Robert and Emma (Phillips) Coy.

Mr. Coy served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from farming but he also worked at Reliance Electric for eight years, Aurora Casket Company for thirteen years, and the Jefferson County Highway Department. He was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church and was formerly a member of Milton Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed working, farming, and walking.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nettie (Jones) Coy, whom he married in 1984; his daughter, Judy May of Madison; his son, Jerry Coy of Lancaster, Indiana; his brother, Robert Coy of Greensburg, Indiana; his step-daughter, Nancy Mahoney Collier of Carrollton, Kentucky; his step-sons, Larry Burns of Madison and Ronnie Burns of San Antonio, Texas; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Freda (Shadday) Coy, whom he married on February 22, 1947 and who passed away in March 1983; his daughter, Betty Lock, who passed away on November 4, 2007; his brother, Wilford Coy; and his sisters, Helen and Elizabeth Coy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Calvary Wesleyan Church, 1627 Clifty Drive, Madison, with interment to follow in Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana.

Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, and from 12:00 PM until time of service on Thursday at the church.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Cincinnati Bible College. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations or at the church.
