Ida Mae Rowlett, age 92, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at North Woods Village in Kokomo, Indiana. She was born on October 5, 1924 in Madison, the daughter of William C. and Mayme (Wolf) Niesse.
Mrs. Rowlett graduated from Madison High School in 1945. On July 20, 1946, she married McGarvey Rowlett and moved to Indianapolis in 1948. She worked for Block's Department Store in the Glendale Shopping Center for twenty years and was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church, Indianapolis.
She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 1, 1992; one sister, Norma Freibert; three brothers: William H. Niesse, Vincent Niesse and Richard Niesse and a great niece, Lisa Strueh.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with interment to follow in Moffett Cemetery, Milton, Kentucky.
Friends and family may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturday.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
