Fannie Bell Gibson, age 97, formerly of Moorefield, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2017 at Garden of the Gods Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on March 10, 1919 in Henry County, Kentucky, the daughter of Clarence and Birdie Arneth (Smith) Aldridge.
Mrs. Gibson graduated in 1937 from Vevay, Indiana High School. She married Edgar Lee Gibson on May 26, 1940 in Long Ridge, Kentucky. He passed away on October 30, 1978.
She retired in 1987 from Allison Diesel Engine Company, a division of General Motors, in Speedway, Indiana and had lived in Indianapolis for many years. She moved to Canyon City, Colorado in 1992, and Colorado Springs in 2003. Prior to that, she had lived in Owenton, Kentucky and Buffalo, Wyoming. She worked also as a housekeeper, waitress, for a dry cleaning company and a bakery. She was a member of Lakeview Church in Indianapolis.
She will be sadly missed by one daughter, Judy Bendever of Manatou Springs, Colorado; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one son, Johnny Gibson on September 22, 2015; and several brothers and sisters.
Private family services will be held in Colorado. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
