Life Story for Lydia Christ DiNicola (Betsch)

Lydia  Christ DiNicola (Betsch)
Lydia Christ DiNicola, age 74, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her residence in Madison. Born March 2, 1943 in Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of John and Whilhelamenia Schaver Betsch.

Mrs. DiNicola worked in the laundry and housekeeping departments of Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Florida until her retirement in 1980, and moved to Madison in August, 2016. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church and a life member of the America Legion Auxiliary Post 39 and VFW, all in Tampa. She loved Country and Italian music, dancing, walking, shopping, amusement parks, Busch Gardens and animals.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Salvatore J. DiNicola, to whom she was married in 2007; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Ken Thornton of Madison; four sons: Edward Christ and his wife, Patti, and LeRoy W. Christ, Jr. and his fiance, Tuesday, all of Zephyrhills, Florida; Thomas Christ and his wife, Bobbie Jo, and Mike Christ and his wife, Kourtney, all of Tampa; one step-daughter, Carol Lynn Tarran, and one step-son, LeRoy Christ-Crawford, Jr., both of Clayton, New Jersey; twin siblings, Dorothy McIllwaine and Donald Betsch, and another sister, Lillian Betsch, all of Tampa; thirteen grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, LeRoy W. Christ, Sr. in 1994; twin daughters; one step-daughter, Lucille Christ; and one great granddaughter, Kenna Hope.

No services are planned. Interment will be at a later date in New York.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
