Richard L. Bell, age 67, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his residence in Madison, Indiana. Born August 7, 1949 in Madison, he was the son of Ervin and Mildred Luellen Bell.
He graduated from Madison High School and the House of James Beauty School. He retired in 2009 from Hanover College after 36 years of service as a custodian. He was also a cosmetologist.
On August 31, 1973, he was united in marriage to Margaret Whittaker at the Hanover AME Methodist Church.
His was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed doing hair and baking bread and cakes.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, JoAnn Anderson of Madison; his son, Jeff Jackson of Madison; his mother, Mildred Luellen Barker of Madison; two grandchildren: Isaiah Anderson and Samantha Jean Jackson; and foster sisters, Betty Todd (Ira) and Becky O’Banion both of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his father, wife and brother, Wayne Bell.
The funeral service will be conduct at 1:00 PM Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel.
