Markt Lance Lytle
Markt Lance Lytle, age 68, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Clarksville, Indiana. Born April 6, 1949 in Tacoma, Washington, he was the son of Markt Andrew and Ruth M. (Dorwin) Lytle.

On June 6, 1997, he was united in marriage to Donna Marie Koontz at the Lanier Mansion in Madison, Indiana.

Markt spent his life serving the people of his beloved hometown of Madison, Indiana. He began his service as a third-generation funeral director after graduating from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1969. Markt later served as Jefferson Country Recorder from 1976 to 1984 and then Mayor from 1984 to 1987. As Mayor, he initiated the Riverfront Development project, an endeavor that exemplified his passion for making Madison a more beautiful place to live. He continued his service as Jefferson County Coroner from 1989 to 1992 and then State Representative from 1992 to 2004, where he served on the Natural Resource Committee, and championed the revitalization of Clifty Falls State Park Inn and the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Donna Lytle of Madison; his son, Markt Trevor Lytle of Madison; his daughters: Traci Lytle of Madison, Tabitha Brown and her husband, Mike of Louisville, Kentucky, Tatum Kaiser and her husband, Kevin of Chicago, Illinois, and Taryn Lytle of Louisville; his sister, Suzie Kephart and her husband, John of Arlington, Texas; his brother, Andrew Lytle and his wife, Karen of Madison; his grandchildren: Ivy Lytle, Lennon Perry, Markt Roman Lytle, Bowman Brown, Bronson Brown, and Lincoln Kaiser; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis Lytle.

Reverend Brye Welty and Reverend Robby King will conduct funeral services at 4:30 PM Saturday September 30, 2017 at the North Madison Christian Church with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street, 423 West Main Street in downtown Madison from 4 to 8 PM Thursday September 28, 2017; 4 to 8 PM Friday, and from 3 PM until time of service on Saturday.
