Ronald Wayne Phillips, age 70, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at his residence. Born January 25, 1947 in Henderson, Kentucky, he was the son of Homer Frank and Stella Evelyn (Holmes) Phillips.
Ron was a 1965 graduate of Madison High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. On November 26, 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda D. Lichlyter at First Baptist Church in Madison. He retired in 2008 after 43 years of employment at Indiana Kentucky Electric Corporation as an Instrument/Performance Supervisor. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group and the First Baptist Church where he was baptized on September 21, 1958 by Reverend Ralph Gronseth. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar with groups, playing golf, buying and selling motorcycles and cars, riding motorcycles and taking motorcycle trips with his wife and sons.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda Phillips of Madison; his daughter, Darla Y. Harmon and her husband, Kevin of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his sons: Ronald “Wayne” Phillips Jr. of Madison and Stacy A. Phillips and his wife, Heather of Noblesville, Indiana; his sister, Judy Gosman and her husband, Dave of Madison; his brother, Paul Phillips and his wife, Shannon of Lexington, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Quinn and Hailey Harmon and Audrey and Lucas Phillips; two nieces, four nephews, and a close friend and riding buddy, Jim Lichlyter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five half brothers and sisters from Henderson, Kentucky.
Reverend Steve Herald will conduct private funeral services at 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison Hilltop.
Private visitation for family and close friends will be held at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, Madison Hilltop, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
