Louis Claude "Louie" Spivey, age 77, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at River Terrace Health Campus in Madison. Born November 9, 1940 in Madison, he was the son of Clarence and Treasy (Justice) Spivey.
Mr. Spivey was a 1959 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. He formerly worked for Koehler Supply, B & P Auto Parts, C & R Parts, Hoosier Auto Parts, and retired in 2014 from KOI Auto Parts, all in Madison.
On November 9, 1973, he was united in marriage to Nancy Ann Smitley at the First Christian Church, Madison.
He was of the Methodist faith, and was formerly the secretary/treasurer of a men's bowling league at Ritter's Lanes, and a former Girl Scout leader. He was a avid reader of science fiction, and enjoyed watching TV, walking, and taking care of and having snowball fights with his grandson.
Mr. Spivey will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Louise Everhart and her husband, Shawn of Hanover; Indiana; one sister: Joan Poe and her husband Paul of Bedford, Kentucky; three grandsons: Ethan, Timothy and Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, David Spivey, and one sister, Louise Spivey.
The Reverend Mike Straub will conduct memorial services at 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Saint John's United Church of Christ, 406 East Main Street, Madison.
Friends and family may call at the Saint John's United Church of Christ from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2017.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
