Life Story for Norma D. Banks

Norma D.  Banks
Norma "NuNu" D. Banks, age 93, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Born August 25, 1924 in Switzerland County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Theodore and Elsie (Morris) Bright. She had worked for the former Telephone Company, Shoe Factory, and Charlestown Powder Plant. She retired August 3, 1987 from Madison State Hospital Food Services, where she began her employment December 25, 1966. In 1948, she was united in marriage to Herman Marshall Banks in Madison, Indiana. NuNu was a member of the Elk's and Moose Lodges, and a former president of the 50+ Club. She loved shopping, going to the boat, playing pull tabs and her cats. Along with her husband, they traveled the world including Russia and Europe.

She will be sadly missed by her sisters: Clara Lockridge and Linda Gordon, both of Madison; her nieces and nephews: Cherri Cronen (Paul), Randy Lockridge (Laura), Rhonda Westrick, Shane Gordon (Lori), Cindy Abney and Amy Barron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman Banks in 2001; brother, Ronald Bright in May 2015; and her nephew, Mike Bright.

Reverend Mike Straub will conduct funeral services at 6:00 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison Hilltop. Entombment will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
