Wilbur L. Wilson
Wilbur L. Wilson, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg, Indiana. Born August 9, 1937 in Madison, he was the son of Omer L. and Helen L. (Giltner) Wilson.

Mr. Wilson retired in 1998 as a loan officer from the (former) Madison Bank & Trust Company after 44 years of service.

On August 16, 1959, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Hassfurder at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madison.

He was a former member of the Indiana National Guard, a 50-year member of the Madison Moose Lodge #765 and a 50-year member of the North Madison Volunteer Fire Company #5. Mr. Wilson enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and working in his yard. He also loved Bob Knight and the IU Hoosiers, and especially his dachshunds, Wendy, Fritz, and Gretchen, who survive.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Phyllis; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Mark Taflinger of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Brenda Wilson of Madison; two sisters: Phyllis Wolfschlag and her husband, David of Madison and Judy Monroe of Jeffersonville; his grandchildren: Brent Taflinger and his companion, Miranda Walton of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kassandra Wilson of Madison, Sarah Shuffitt and her husband, Eric of Jeffersonville, and Lindsette Shreve and her husband, Scott of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and two great grandchildren: Brooklyn Shuffitt and Paden Shreve.

He was preceded in death by his father on December 10, 1972 and his mother on July 2, 1993.

Reverend Brye Welty will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Friday, March 16, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison Hilltop, with interment to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
