Life Story for Wanda M. Howley (McCoskey)

Wanda M. Howley (McCoskey)
Wanda Mae Howley, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at The Waters of Clifty Falls. Born March 12, 1937 in Scott County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Paul and Laura (Berry) McCoskey.

She moved to Madison as a child and began working as a teenager for the former Park-N-Eat Restaurant. She then worked for twenty years at the former Conn Organ plant in Madison until it closed, and for another twenty years for the former JayC Store in Downtown Madison. She retired in 2004 after ten years as a greeter at WalMart.

On November 2, 1954, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Howley at Saint Michael's Rectory in Madison.

Mrs. Howley was a member of North Madison Baptist Church and enjoyed attending services there. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by one son, Kevin Howley of Madison; one daughter-in-law, Cheryll Howley of LaGrange, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Nicholas Howley of Madison, Alyssa Howley-Williams and her companion, Jon of Columbus, Indiana, and Courtney Brown and her husband, Troy of LaGrange; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 2, 2017; one son, Charles David Howley on May 14, 2015; one grandson, Austin Howley on August 20, 2014; and one sister, Barbara Hetrick in 2004.

The Reverend Frank McGee will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street, Madison, with interment to follow in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at the church from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to North Madison Baptist Church. Contributions may be made at the church or at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.

Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison hilltop, is in charge of the arrangements.
