Richard "Rick" Norman Brinker, age 35, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Indianapolis. Born January 12, 1982 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Richard R. Brinker and Cathy (Jacobs) Taylor. On March 23, 2013, he was united in marriage to Amber Hicks in Indianapolis.
In 2000, he graduated from Triton Central High School in Fairland, Indiana. Rick was a member of the Sheet Metal Union, Local 20 for 17 years, and was Superintendent/Project Manager for Snodgrass Sheet Metal of Indianapolis. His passion was his kids, having spent many days coaching them in basketball. He also had a passion for his shoes, especially basketball shoes. He was a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Amber Brinker of Noblesville, Indiana; his sons: Izaiah Brinker, Dresdin Brinker, Kane Brinker, and Richard Brinker, II; his daughter, Arianna Baldridge; his mother and stepfather, Cathy and Rick Taylor of Fairland; his father, Richard Brinker of Indianapolis; his sisters, Tara Cox of Madison, Indiana; Keely Taylor of Fairland; Lauren Taylor and Brooke Taylor, both of Indianapolis; his brother, Jian Tao Taylor of Fairland; his maternal grandparents, Jackie Lee and Reba Jacobs of Indianapolis, and Lloyd and Peggy Taylor of Shelbyville, Indiana; four nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Norman L. and Elizabeth Brinker.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Southeastern Church of Christ, 6500 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana with a reception to follow at the church.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Brinker Children Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
