Edna Mae Sargent, age 91, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Hickory Creek at Madison. Born December 9, 1926 in Hanover, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clarence and Florence (Santschi) Duke.
On May 8, 1965, she was united in marriage to William R. Sargent. She worked as a bookkeeper for a local doctor's office for many years and formerly worked at Butler Dairy. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed doing puzzles, crocheting, and gardening.
She will be sadly missed by her step-daughters: Pamela Brown of Hanover and Tina Mahoney of Madison; her step-sons: William E. Sargent of Madison and James Sargent of Hanover; her sister, Doris Humphreys of Madison; her sister-in-law, Carol Stout of Taylorsville, Indiana; her grandchildren: Jeff Obertate and David Obertate, both of Hanover, Bridgett Sargent of Madison, Rebecca Mack of Louisville, Matthew Bibbs of Richmond, Willy Sargent of Dupont, Indiana; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her step son: Ronald Sargent; and three brothers: Harold Duke, Donnie Duke, and Robert Lee Duke.
Reverend Frank McGee will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison Hilltop, with interment to follow in Hanover Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday.
